Toxins and poisons come from many sources....
Mercury - Insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers and from canned fish.
Medical drugs and latex paints: Eg. Copper from water pipes, meat (feed Additives) copper pots, hormones and water-softening chemicals.
Veterinary / Medical drugs including anaesthetics, antibiotics, sulfa type drugs, diuretics, anti-convulsants and steroids, heart worm, flea, wormer and mange drugs (are all insecticides that poisons the blood) all these toxins cause Liver damage, not just from short term, but many animals have an overuse, Or overdosing on more than one type of drugs at the same time.
Lead - found in canned commercial food, tap water, plus drug insecticides poisons are in (i.e. wormer, flea, heartworm, mange.
Aluminium - Aluminium cans, cookware and food bowls, foil and tap water.
CANCER in Pets starts at the liver (damaged/weakened Liver)
COMMERCAIL ARTIFICAL FOODS are: Known Carcinogenic foods which have food additives, dyes, preserves, by product meats, which ALL contain Liver damaging chemicals FOUND in our pet tin food.
Be safe and home prepared meals inexpensive way.
EG. Ethoxyquin is used as a preservative.
(EG . IAMS & UKANUBA BISCUITS ) and BHA/BHT and excessive copper in pet foods have been implicated in Liver damage and Liver cancers, as have nitrites/nitrates, sodium benzoate (highly toxic to cats Liver) and propyl gallate.
Many commercial dog foods are high in copper: Some breeds (terriers and Dobermann pincher means terrier) cannot metabolize Copper, they may acquire Copper toxicosis which is related to the liver and excess copper accumulating in the organ because it is not metabolized. Dogs that continue commercial diet and do not get alternate treatment can die because too much copper in the system is toxic.ie. Cereals which is high in copper is found in commercial foods as well as kibble(dry foods) are often used as a binder or filler.
Tap water: The use of copper pipes may also add copper to the dog?s drinking water. Always give your pets filtered water, whether they are Terriers or not.
Commercial Diets too low in protein, high in ash, phosphors, fats and sugars (tooth plaque), also causing liver and Kidney damage.
*Change diet and see the health changes! Reduce your vet bills as well!!

PET Food - Induced AIDS by Dr. Tom Lonsdale DVM
Many pets not old but stricken with Diet Induced AIDS
Modern processed diets are known to be responsible for periodontal or gum disease which affects more than 85% of domestic cats and dogs. Foul breath odour is an early sign suggesting that more severe heart, liver and kidney disease may follow.
An article published in the December 1995 issue of the British Journal of Small Animal Practice confirms that processed pet foods produce periodontal disease which often leads to an AIDS-like condition in affected animals. ( JSAP 1995 36, 542-546 )
Dr Tom Lonsdale of Riverstone NSW the author of the paper admits that he, along with almost everyone else, used to recommend processed pet foods. "Previously we thought animals were suffering the effects of old age when in fact they were wasting away with periodontal disease and diet-induced AIDS."
"Now we treat the periodontal disease and provide the pets with a natural diet. The removal of the poisons allows the immune system to recover and owners frequently report that their old pet is like a puppy/kitten again."
"I believe that this information should have been available to Australian vets and their patients in 1993. The Australian Veterinary Journal refused to publish the research findings."
"In my view a committee of inquiry should be established. Diet induced AIDS of pets is just as nasty as HIV AIDS for humans. In France HIV AIDS experts suppressed information for a mere two months and as a result were prosecuted and some gaoled for 'complicity in poisoning."(Science Vol 268 16 June 1995)
Dr Tom Lonsdale and other concerned veterinarians continue their campaign for the banning of what they consider to be misleading pet food industry advertising.
"Pet owners should be informed that feeding processed pet foods is likely to lead to ill health, suffering and unnecessary vet bills."
