Constipation

Most healthy cats pass between one and three bowel motions per week. Some cats do not follow this pattern, but as long as the fasces are soft but well-formed, and the cat is not straining, then there is no indication of constipation.

Prevention and Natural Solutions

If the condition is not relieved quickly, it can cause a serious lifelong disorder called "megacolon" and so in order to prevent constipation, or to treat it effectively we suggest the following action -

• Provide plenty of fresh "filtered" drinking water.
• Feed a high-quality natural protein diet rich in fiber and perhaps add a couple of teaspoons of filtered water in daily meals.
• For some older cats, suffering chronic constipation, add about 1 teaspoon of soaked oatbran to daily meals. Some people add a teaspoon of Olive oil as a natural lubricant.
• Worm your pet with a ParaExpel "natural homeopathic wormer".
