Holistic Animal
Medicines Pty Ltd (HAMPL) on Environmental Issues
At HAMPL, we have established our own policy towards a sustainable future in
regards to environmental impact by business. We reduced our paper consumption
by implementing electronic records where possible, where only sensitive information
is printed (as no sensitive information is kept electronically). We do our printing
on recycled REFLEX® Pure White paper, which is derived from mixed sources
of well-managed forests and controlled sources (refer www.fsc.org
Certificate no. SW-C0C-1966). If you have purchased from us within the last
six months, you will notice that we no longer use plastic bubble wrap for packaging,
but instead using recycled cardboards for wrapping. We also chose our printers
wisely and opted for Kyocera with an Energy Star rating for our colour printing,
with Kyocera as a company that has strong visibility in the social responsibility
towards the environment. Our other printers for black and white prints are set
to low ink consumption and have good energy rating. We recycle everything we
can, from reusing the blank sides of previously used paper, duplex printing
where possible and recycling our printer cartridges through authorised outlets.
The computers in our
office only run during office hours and when not in use, are turned off at the
wall. Office lights are only used in areas where absolutely necessary, and air-conditioning/heating
is only used where needed most (our product stock room is monitored to maintain
the correct temperature for storage).
Our waste collection is managed by City of Stirling (the local council where
our business is operating), which collects all waste in one bin, then transfers
all waste to the Resource Recovery Facilities (RRF). This is an automated sorting
facility where collection of recyclable materials is maximised, thus minimising
waste for landfill. City of Stirling is well known for introducing this high
technology waste management to properly manage household and business waste.
You can find more information from their website (www.stirling.wa.gov.au).
Our business is conducted within the above policy and is geared towards a more
sustainable future. The above might seem small, and not worth mentioning, but
every small step counts toward a better environment for future generations.
Why are we telling you this?
We are letting you know about our environment policy not to promote ourselves,
but to ask you to help us to ensure a better future. When you purchase our products,
you will receive our products wrapped in cardboard, along with information sheets
and placed in a plastic bag. We are hoping that you can recycle all the above
materials, including the bottles once empty. The cardboard, information sheets
and bottles are all recyclable. The plastic bags can be reused for storage.
Let us work together to create a better environment and ensure a sustainable
future for future generations.
Regards,
