ACID/ALKALINE FOODS AND DIET
Animals on a meat-based diet will have a more acidic pH, as meat creates waste that becomes acidic in the body. The pH for cats should be slightly acidic, dogs closer to neutral. Vegetables: Little mashed parsley, raw finely mulched or mashed spinach, sprouted seeds, cooked sweet potato, cooked pumpkin, some dandelion greens, raw or cooked and mashed organic carrot, cooked mashed broccoli,
Fruits: apple, pears, bananas,
Nuts: crushed brazil nuts (high in selenium as well)
Other: Organic flaxseed oil or grains. goat’s milk and goats yogurt, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in water bowl or meals.
Meat: chicken breast or lamb are good options, plus an occasional egg (yolk only) for highly quality protein, which is essential for cats, whom are true carnivores. Canines are less so and can do well on more vegetables in their daily diet.
